Upgrade Package from V1.6 to V1.8                     
ATTENTION PLS:

1. Please recompile all templates after upgrade

2. Please click "Media Library" and click the button "Create Preview Images" to create preview image(s) for old media

3. Change the ImageRoot URL to start with http:// or https:// for preview purpose.

    New features in V1.8:
    1. Core feature
     1) New Web API implementing RESTful AtomPub Protocol
     2) Solr 1.4 supported
     3) New Tags for site: site_root, image_root
     4) New Tags for article: art_prev, art_next, art_previd, art_prevtitle, art_prevurl, art_nextid, art_nexttitle, art_nexturl
     5) New Tags supported in RS statement: art_prev、art_next, art_previd, art_prevtitle, art_prevurl, art_nextid, art_nexttitle, art_nexturl

Answer: JAVA is recommended. You can also use other development language which you are good at, such as PHP. ORACLE is recommended when choosing database.
